HOW TO ADOPT A DOG

If you’re thinking of giving one of our dogs a home, here’s how the adoption process works:

1. Visit the shelter: Come and see us at the shelter, meet our dogs and find your new four-legged friend.

2. Fill in the pre-adoption questionnaire: During your visit we’ll ask you to fill in a short questionnaire. It helps us understand your needs and make sure the dog you’d like to adopt is a good fit for your lifestyle.

3. Home visit: Next, one of our volunteers will come to your home for a friendly chat. This lets us check that your home is suitable and safe for the dog. If the dog will have access to a garden, the garden must be fenced to keep them safe. If the dog will be living with other pets, we recommend arranging a first meeting beforehand so everyone gets off on the right paw.

4. Agreeing to spaying/neutering: Adopters must agree to have the dog spayed or neutered. This is part of our animal welfare policy and helps control the dog population.

5. Welcome home, new friend: If the home visit goes well and all the requirements are met, you’re free to come back to the shelter and take your new four-legged companion home.
