Cat Shelter Donations

Every day at the La Valle degli Angeli Cat Shelter we look after more than 100 cats.

They’ve come to us from all sorts of situations: abandonment, rescues, emergencies, difficult pasts. Some are young, some are old, and some are more fragile and need extra care.

Sadly, abandonment doesn’t only happen in summer. It goes on all year round, which means that every single day we have to make sure all our residents have food, care and someone by their side.

Looking after the cats falls almost entirely on the association and its volunteers.
That’s why every donation really does count.

What kind of food do our cats need?

Over time we’ve tried different kinds of food, but not all of them suit our cats.

Many of the cats at the shelter are elderly, fragile or have sensitive stomachs. Some foods can upset their digestion or just don’t agree with them.

So, apart from specific cases where the vet prescribes a special diet, most of our cats eat these foods:

Dry food for adult cats

Natural Trainer for adult cats

Wet food

We prefer chunks or mousse, especially:

Iams
Felix
Natural Trainer
Purina mousse

Donating these products helps us enormously, because it lets us keep the cats’ diet consistent and avoid sudden changes that could upset their health.

How you can help

There are two ways to help.

Bring the food to the Cat Shelter yourself

You can buy the food at your usual shop and bring it straight to:

We’re open every day from 2pm to 7pm.
No appointment needed.

Every bag of dry food, every tin and every small donation is real help for our cats.

Send the food by courier

We’ve added the most useful foods to our Amazon wish list:

The delivery address linked to the list belongs to one of our volunteers.

The shelter is out in the countryside, on a road without an address couriers can easily find. To avoid delivery problems, donations are sent to the volunteer’s home and then brought to the cat shelter.
