14 October 2024 – 10 Years of Success: Happy Birthday, Dog Park!

🎉 Today we’re celebrating a big milestone: the tenth anniversary of our shelter, a place of love and care for so many four-legged friends. It was a day full of emotion, with our whole community coming together to celebrate what we’ve achieved and look ahead to new projects.

A community event

The first part of the celebration took place at the Lajatico Municipal Theatre, where we heard from our President, Ivo Gronchi, our founder Rossella Prosperi, and other key figures including the Mayor of Lajatico, Fabio Tedeschi, Dr Romina Macchia, Medical Director Marta Fabbri and Dr Marta Galiberti. Together they shared stories of commitment, passion and the real results achieved thanks to everyone’s tireless work.

A special moment was the presentation of the Masterplan by our surveyor, Mr Barbafieri, who outlined the plans to expand the park and shared the vision for the shelter’s future with the local councils present.

Thank you to our supporters

Heartfelt thanks also go to Tuscany Regional Councillor Alessandra Nardini, who honoured us with her presence and her support. Her words meant a great deal to all of us volunteers and strengthened our commitment to protecting animals.

New spaces to welcome more dogs

The second part of the party took place at the Dog Park, where we opened the new kennels for our resident dogs. Many visitors took the chance to go for a walk with our furry friends, giving them moments of joy and affection. It was wonderful to see so many people spending time with the animals and sharing this special day.

Looking ahead

We hope our shelter’s work, focused on promoting adoptions and protecting animal welfare, can inspire other local councils in the fight against stray animals. A responsible adoption doesn’t just give an animal a new life: it also saves money for communities that, like us, are working towards a more inclusive and respectful future for all living beings.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and who helps us make this dream come true, every single day.
